Baker & McKenzie Advises Gestamp Solar On The Construction And Related Financing Of A Photovoltaic Project In Japan.

Baker & McKenzie (Gaikokuho Joint Enterprise) announced that it advised Spanish solar power developer Gestamp Solar on the construction of its first photovoltaic project in Japan. The utility-scale project, located in Daigo town, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, will have an installed capacity of 31.6 megawatts and is expected to be completed and operational by April 2015. As a part of this project, Baker & McKenzie also advised Gestamp Solar in connection with the signing of a JPY11.1bn (approx. USD 110m) non-recourse construction loan provided by Deutsche Bank AG.

 

Baker & McKenzie’s team was led by Naoaki Eguchi, head of the Tokyo office’s Banking & Finance Practice Group“We are privileged to have advised Gestamp Solar on this matter and to help facilitate their first utility-scale solar project in Japan,” Eguchi commented.
