Baker & McKenzie announced today that Milton Cheng has been elected as the new Managing Partner of the Firm’s Hong Kong, China, Korea and Vietnam offices.  Milton has held a number of significant Firm and practice group management roles, including being a member of the Management Committee of the Hong Kong, China, Korea and Vietnam offices, co-head of the Corporate Group and Head of the REIT Practice in Hong Kong, and also the Head of the Firm’s Asia-Pacific Mergers & Acquisitions Group.  Milton will succeed Paul Tan, who held the position since October 2012.

Lawrence Lee, Chairman of Baker & McKenzie’s Hong Kong, China, Korea and Vietnam offices, said, “Paul’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in consolidating Baker & McKenzie’s position as the premier global law firm in the Greater China, Korea and Vietnam markets.  We are delighted that Milton Cheng is taking over this important role.  Given Milton’s extensive experience of management and leadership roles within the Firm, we are confident that he will further expand and build on the fantastic platform that we have in the region, and continue to grow our strategic offerings to meet the changing business and legal needs of our clients.”
