Baker & McKenzie’s Member Firms Advise on Nirvana Asia’s IPO in Hong Kong

Baker & McKenzie’s member firms in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia advised on Nirvana Asia Ltd’s USD 261m initial public offering (IPO) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Wong & Partners, the member firm in Malaysia, was the Malaysian counsel to the underwriters, namely UBS AG Hong Kong Branch, UBS Securities Hong Kong Limited and DBS Asia Capital Limited. Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow, the member firm in Singapore, acted as Singapore counsel and Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners, the member firm in Indonesia, acted as Indonesia counsel.

 
Nirvana Asia, which provides integrated premium death care services, was successfully listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 17 December 2014. The IPO included a domestic offering of securities in Hong Kong and an international offering of securities under Rule 144A and Regulation S of the United States Securities Act.

 
Munir Abdul Aziz, partner in Wong & Partners, led the team in Malaysia. The team in Singapore comprised of principals Andrew Martin, Yanni Long, Lynette Low, and Chen Yih Pong. The team in Indonesia comprised of partner Iqbal Darmawan.
