Hong Kong – Mayer Brown JSM Promotes Three To Partnership.

Mayer Brown announced the promotion of 21 of its lawyers worldwide to partner including three in Hong Kong, The appointments take effect 1 January, 2013.

The new partners in Hong Kong are:
 
Alan C.W. Chiu, Intellectual Property, Hong Kong
 
Mr. Chiu advises on a diversified range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property and information technology matters in both Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. His experience includes: handling Norwich Pharmacal application and contempt proceedings in Hong Kong; assisting in defamatory lawsuits for celebrities and various entertainment matters including music and film contracts; advising on computer security, IT compliance and other Internet regulatory issues; and assisting clients in negotiations with the PRC State Food and Drug Administration. He also is experienced in antitrust law and is an accredited mediator.
 
Ashley H.S. Wong, Banking & Finance, Hong Kong
 
Ms. Wong focuses on the aviation industry, representing airlines and lessors on a wide range of transactions, including financing transactions, aircraft trading transactions and complex commercial contracts. She assists lessors and airlines to document purchase and lease-back financings, aircraft trading arrangements (including new aircraft purchases and portfolio acquisitions) and disposals. She also advises airlines on complex commercial agreements, including long-term engine service agreements and big-ticket equipment procurement programs.
 
Wilson Y.S. Wong, Real Estate, Hong Kong
 
Mr. Wong has experience advising on real estate-related financing and other secured and unsecured lending transactions for major banks and financial institutions operating in Hong Kong.
