Singapore – Double Celebrations For Ince & Co And Incisive Law.

31, May 2012

International law firm Ince & Co is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the opening of its Singapore office, together with the first Anniversary of the Ince Law Alliance with Singapore law practice Incisive Law LLC.

A formal reception is being held at Eden Hall, residence of the British High Commissioner to Singapore this week, attended by some 250 clients, friends and Ince lawyers. Among those joining the celebration will be James Wilson, the firm’s global Senior Partner, as well as regional representatives from across the firm’s international offices.

James Wilson comments: “I am delighted to toast the continued success of our Singapore office and the first anniversary of the Ince Law Alliance. Ince has been committed to Singapore for many years,  during which time we have increased our ability to advise clients in the maritime, trade, energy and insurance markets in which we specialise. Here in Singapore we have one of the best-resourced legal practices in the region and our experienced lawyers demonstrate a deep understanding of the markets they serve."

“Through the Ince Law Alliance we are able to provide advice on both Singapore and English law, all within the same office, which has been of great benefit to our clients,” James adds.

Richard Lovell, managing partner of Ince & Co’s Singapore office comments: “We have seen significant growth here in the past 12 months, which has boosted our role in the Singapore legal market. This month we welcomed Aruno Rajaratnam as financial lines insurance practice group leader for Asia, and we were delighted that ship finance specialist and head of our business and finance team Martin Brown was recently promoted to  partner. Our capability in shipping was recognised earlier this month when Asia Legal Business journal awarded us SE Asia Shipping Firm of the Year, for the fourth consecutive year. The growth and development of our team reflects our commitment to retaining top quality advisers and investing in our future."

Richard adds: “As a result of its many attractions as a business centre and clever government initiatives and coordination, Singapore is fast establishing itself as the leading South East Asian hub for maritime, financial and business services. As an international law firm at the heart of the shipping industry and recognised for providing legal advice to many other businesses, Ince is well placed to serve our clients’ needs. Indeed, our 20 years in the Singapore legal market gives us the skills and insights to help clients navigate both the challenges and opportunities of today’s economy.”
