Herbert Smith Freehills announced today that Chinnawat Thongpakdee has joined its Asia dispute resolution practice as a partner.  

 

Chinnawat, a Thai national, has over 28 years of experience in dispute resolution, including litigation, regulatory matters and international arbitration. Based in Bangkok, Chinnawat will advise local, regional and international corporates who become involved in Thai disputes, and on international arbitrations arising from activities in Thailand or involving Thai parties. He will work closely with Herbert Smith Freehills' dispute specialists across the region, in particular with Surapol Srangsomwong in Thailand, Maurice Burke and Alastair Henderson in Singapore and Charles Ball in Indonesia. 

 

Following the merger in October this year, Herbert Smith Freehills is now the largest fully-integrated firm in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the world's top ten law firms.

 

Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Chinnawat was a partner with a leading Thai and international law firm. He was also a Secretary to the Director-General of the Legal Counsel Department and a former Senior State Attorney, in the Attorney General's Office.
