Kirkland & Ellis Advises Trina Solar On Concurrent CB And Equity Offerings.

Kirkland & Ellis represented Trina Solar Limited, a NYSE-listed solar energy company based in China, on its concurrent US$115m Rule 144/Regulation S offering of convertible senior notes due 2019 with a registered stock borrow facility and US$30 million follow-on offering of American depositary shares. 

 

This is the fourth offering by a solar energy company that Kirkland has advised on in Asia in 2014, following Trina Solar’s concurrent US$150m offering of convertible bonds and US$97m  follow-on offering of American depositary shares in June, Canadian Solar’s concurrent US$150m offering of convertible bonds and US$115 million follow-on offering of common shares and JinkoSolar Holdings’ concurrent US$150m offering of convertible bonds and US$133m follow-on offering of American depositary shares.

 

The Kirkland team on the above transactions was led by Hong Kong corporate partners David Zhang and Benjamin Su.
