The ABC has forced the removal of an application which allowed users to download and watch programs offered on its iview service on their Android devices, two years after the application was first made available.

  

The application developer removed the application from its website after the ABC noted the application of breaching its iview terms of use. In response systems administrator Robert Mibus, who works for an internet service provider, wrote an open letter to the ABC arguing that the application was no different from a VCR, Fetch TV or TIVO recording service.
