Australia – Henry Davies York Appoints New Insolvency Partner.

19 June, 2012

Henry Davis York (HDY) has appointed insolvency litigation specialist, Sarah Worsfield to its partnership effective 1 July 2012. Sarah has been promoted from special counsel.

The firm has also appointed two new special counsel and ten senior associates. Of those promotions, six have been in the firm's banking restructuring and insolvency practice.

HDY managing partner, Sharon Cook said the promotions reflect the firm's ongoing and recent appointments as lawyers and litigation specialists on significant Australian receiverships.

"Our tier one insolvency and restructuring practice is continuing to work on some of the largest insolvency and restructuring jobs in Australia such as ABC Learning Centres and Octaviar. We were also recently appointed as lawyers for the administrators of the Hastie Group and the Sema Group," said Sharon Cook.

"The new appointments are of lawyers within the firm who have demonstrated the professional excellence and commitment that will enhance and strengthen HDY into the future.

"It also supports one of the key priorities for the firm over the past few years which has been the development of our senior associates and special counsel as the future leaders of Henry Davis York.  This development has included the creation of a clear performance framework, which has provided clarity around the expectations to be met for career development."
