Baker & McKenzie has acted for Sims Metal Management, the world's largest listed metals and electronics recycler, on its first major step into Asia.
Recognised as one of the world's most sustainable companies, ASX and NYSE listed Sims announced its 20% strategic investment in Chinese recycling company, Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed Chiho-Tiande Group, this week.
The Baker & McKenzie team was led by Sydney partner David Holland and Hong Kong partners David Fleming and Dorothea Koo.
Holland said: "This deal has enabled Sims to increase its exposure to recycling markets in China which is a major step for the company given the opportunities in the region".
Baker & McKenzie has also previously advised Sims on its NYSE listing and in a number of material M&A transactions in Australia and the United States.
