China – Infosys Partners With Huawei To Offer Cloud-Based Services.

24 September, 2014

India’s Infosys Ltd has signed a partnership with Chinese telecoms firm Huawei Technologies Co Ltd to jointly offer cloud, big data and communication solutions.

Infosys and Huawei will jointly develop IT solutions that combine Huawei’s cloud infrastructure and Infosys’ service expertise, the companies said.

The firms will also consider setting up a joint laboratory in China “to enable better delivery in all areas of the partnership”, Infosys said.

In separate announcements, Infosys said it had also expanded existing cloud computing partnerships with Microsoft Corp and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS).

Infosys said under the expanded partnership with Microsoft, the firms will help companies use and migrate to Microsoft’s cloud platform “in a more secure manner”. Infosys said it will also establish a “global centre of excellence for Microsoft Azure Machine Learning capable of training more than 1,000 engineers by the end of fiscal year 2015”.

Infosys and HDS will work together to help clients transition their IT infrastructure to new cloud-based environments. Infosys said it will also “establish a centre of excellence to co-create pay-per-use solutions with HDS”. Enterprises can then convert a significant share of their capital expenditure, related to infrastructure and data centre management, into operational expenditure, Infosys said.

HDS chief operating officer Brian Householder said: “Businesses need solutions that don’t require constant disruptive changes to the technology that supports them. This is what we are delivering today in strategic partnership with Infosys.”
