Indonesia – SSEK Named Indonesian Firm Of The Year.

1 March, 2013

Soewito Suhardiman Eddymurthy Kardono has been selected as the Indonesian National Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Asia-Pacific Awards for Excellence 2013.

SSEK was praised for its balance of Indonesian and foreign legal resources. Commentators were particularly impressed by SSEK’s work in the corporate sphere, where it recently represented the South Korean tobacco company KT&G on its US$132.6 million purchase of a majority stake in Trisakti Group. The firm’s real estate team was also spotlighted as a major player in the field, and SSEK’s capital markets and litigation capabilities were also highlighted.

In recognizing SSEK, Chambers noted that the firm serves a distinguished clientele that includes SC Johnson, RBS and LaSalle Investment Management.

Rusmaini Lenggogeni, SSEK’s managing partner, thanked Chambers for the honor and said it reflected the hard work, dedication and skill of everyone in the SSEK family. “We think this is a tremendous honor and a welcome reward for all the work put in by the lawyers and everyone else at SSEK. We are tremendously proud of our team,” she said.

One of SSEK’s founding partners, Ira Eddymurthy, said the recognition was a reflection of the firm’s broad client base and the quality of work it does across a range of practice areas. “SSEK has and will continue to advise on the biggest deals, with both local and international clients, across all practice areas.” She thanked all of SSEK’s clients.

The Chambers Asia-Pacific Awards recognize the work of national and international law firms across the region on the basis of research for the 2013 edition of Chambers Asia Pacific. They also reflect notable achievements over the past 12 months, including outstanding work, strategic growth and excellence in client service.

In addition to being named the 2013 Indonesian National Law Firm of the Year, SSEK has once again been recognized as a top law firm across a range of practice areas in the new edition of Chambers Asia Pacific. SSEK was ranked as one of Indonesia’s leading firms in Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Projects & Natural Resources and Real Estate.
