SoftBank Internet and Media, Inc. (SIMI), a subsidiary of SoftBank, announced definitive agreements under which the SoftBank Group will become the largest investor in online marketplace Snapdeal, through a USD 627m investment. SIMI and ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd. also announced a definitive agreement under which SIMI will lead an investment of USD 210 million in transportation aggregator Ola along with existing investors.
Morrison & Foerster is advising SoftBank on the Snapdeal transaction with a deal team led by corporate partners Ken Siegel and Randy Laxer; and on the Ola Cabs transaction with a deal team led by corporate partner Ken Siegel with support from partners Greg Giammittorio and Adam Summerly.
