Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP ("Paul, Weiss") announced that it is boosting its award-winning private equity and M&A practice in Asia with Spencer Park joining the Hong Kong office as Counsel. Spencer’s focus will be on private equity, credit and real estate transactions in the Asia region, supporting some of the firm’s global clients as they expand their presence in Asia. Spencer joins a team of more than 25 practitioners who work in the private equity and M&A practice.
Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Spencer was an Executive Director and Group General Counsel with Asia Pacific Land in Hong Kong, overseeing group investments, financings and fundraising activities across China, Japan and Taiwan. Before that he was Senior Vice President, Real Estate Finance Asia with Capmark Japan KK, and Senior Vice President and Counsel with Citigroup Principal Investments Japan Co., Ltd. Spencer also worked for several years in the U.S. and Tokyo offices of another international law firm.
Spencer received a J.D., cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1997, and an A.B., magna cum laude, in Economics and East Asian Studies (Japan) from Harvard University. He is fluent in English and Japanese, proficient in Korean and German, with basic Mandarin.
