Japanese companies have been increasing their investments in various industries in Indonesia, and Japan is one of Indonesia’s largest foreign direct investors with total investments of USD 2.7bn in Year 2014.
Against this background, ZICOlaw announced that Roosdiono & Partners (R&P) and Anderson Mori & Tomotsune (AMT) have agreed to establish a dedicated AMT “Jakarta Desk” in the office of R&P in Indonesia.
AMT’s “Jakarta Desk” will provide a local platform to assist AMT’s Japanese clients expanding into Indonesia. It will also serve to assist Japanese clients in their native Japanese language about doing business in Indonesia, including advice on compliance and labor affairs, and up-to-date information on local insights and developments.
The Jakarta Desk will be headed by AMT lawyer Takahiro Ikeda as representative attorney.
R&P Managing Partner Leoni Silitonga commented: “The strategic establishment of the AMT Jakarta Desk is a testament of the close working relationship enjoyed by the two firms over the years. Clients in Japan and Indonesia will benefit and can leverage the high quality and wide range of services offered through one desk with time and cost efficiencies. Naturally, they can also obtain access to strong ASEAN connectivity through R&P’s membership in the ZICOlaw network.”
