Indonesia’s labor environment has become exceptionally complicated, with labor laws and regulations changing frequently. SSEK keeps abreast of all these changes and advises corporate clients on severance matters, personnel policies and work rules, employment contracts, collective labor agreements, pension funds, secondment arrangements, mandatory training and social security programs. In the event of a labor dispute, SSEK represents its corporate clients in settlement negotiations and appears before the relevant administrative tribunals. SSEK also arranges work permits, visas, residency permits and related governmental approvals and filings.


Many of SSEK’s clients have at one time or other sought advice on the myriad of new labor laws in order to understand their legal rights and obligations. In addition, SSEK has prepared company manpower regulations for its corporate clients and handles the Department of Manpower approval process.  We have also participated in the preparation and negotiation of collective labor agreements and advised in connection with labor strikes and other trade union matters.  We also counsel clients on how to effectively manage terminations in order to minimize cost and expense and we represent clients in industrial relations disputes involving individual and mass terminations.  Finally, SSEK also advises on employee stock option plans and employee pension plans.
