China/Hong Kong – Stephenson Harwood Appoints two new Partners.

International law firm Stephenson Harwood has appointed two new partners for its Greater China offices.


Matthew Wong joins Stephenson Harwood in Hong Kong from Bird & Bird where he was a corporate partner. He specialises in corporate finance, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, foreign direct investments and mergers & acquisitions. He also advises on Hong Kong securities regulatory and Stock Exchange compliance issues, as well as a wide range of commercial transactions such as business transfers and joint ventures. Matthew is a Hong Kong qualified solicitor, and has been practising in Hong Kong since 1994. He is also a solicitor admitted in England & Wales and in Australia.


ChunFai (CF) Lui joins the firm from Baker & McKenzie's Shanghai office where he was special counsel. He has wide-ranging experience in structuring, negotiating and executing mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, venture capital, and ensuring antitrust and regulatory approvals and compliance. He has been advising on regulatory risk issues in China, and formulating strategies for market entries. With in-house experience and finance MBA from Wharton, he has also helped Chinese and Asian companies in numerous "outbound" investments in Latin America, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US. He has a diverse range of sector experience in mining and resources, energy, chemicals, automotive, industrial, food and agriculture, healthcare, retail, hi-tech, financial services and logistics.
